When is a Toque a Beanie?
Canadians refer to these warm hats as Toques, which originated from the French word tuque that describes the knitted caps traders wore to keep their heads warm. These hats are simply brilliant. They come in a variety of materials, our favourite (and possibly yours) is Merino wool. The warm, breathable and anti-microbial properties are perfect for keeping your head warm.
But when is a toque a beanie? Toques are beanies, and beanies are toques both with or without pom-poms, it’s entirely up to you. You could also call them woolen caps, knit caps, or even watch caps. We believe both are great winter hats.
