Was looking for a hat for a while. Saw a guy wearing the wool tech hat and asked where he got it. I ordered the hat and have it about 6 years. Nice fit, warm and like that it's crushable so it fits in my coat pocket. Only drawback are the flimsy ear covers but that's not a deal killer for me.
Nothing to dislike about my new Tilley TTW2 Tec wool hat for winter. It's my fourth Tilley hat. It fits well, albeit a bit loose because I had to get an XL -- I typically wear a 7 5/8 inches hat -- but I am ok with it being a bit loose (I don't like hats that fit too snugly). The wool keeps my head warm in subzero temps. The ear flaps do an ok job of keeping my ears warm. And the hat looks good. It's a quality hat, like all Tilley hats.
I have had this hat for the past 10 years. We have been through so much together. It has seen be in my coldest, most dreariest and darkest days and nights of winter. She is the best winter partner one can have. Even with all the wear and tear of many years of use, the loss of her feather, the permanent creases, dents, and folds, she still gets the compliments, attention and acknowledgement she deserves. She's the only winter hat for me.
Tilley makes fantastic hats. My TTW2 olive arrived today. It's warm comfortable and beautiful.
This is my 11th Tilley. Hat. T1 bucket, T3, T5CN, Fedora (felt fur) 15 y/o Ivy Cap (brown) this was a replacement for a lost hat and Ivy cap x5 (Autumn Harvest) 15 y/o. Lost 1. When Tilley discontinued the Autumn Harvest, I stocked up on them and still have 2 brand new ones with 2 in use. I love that color. Wish I'd have gotten the winter hat like the TTW2 in autumn harvest.
The Fedora, Ivy Caps and TTW2 all have flip down ear warmers. The TTW2, that came today, has a lighter ear warmer material then my older flip down hats. It's still nice and functional, just lighter.
They are all geat, long lasting hats built to survive whatever you throw at them.
I couldn't be happier.
