The process was easy, quick and successful. My first Tilley was 24 year old and quite ragged. My new hat, a TWS1 Paddler's Hat, arrived within days. Wonderful!

I've had this hat for a year or two and have worn it twice. I have a half-dozen or more Tilley hats, all of which are the same size (7 5/8) and fit well. But this one is too small and leaves a crease in my forehead. I paddle canoes a bit, but have not taken it to the water because a few hours of paddling with this hat on would give me a headache. I tried stretching it over my knee, but the stretching effect lasted only a short time.

The two times I wore it were during a light rain, for a few minutes, to see if it was water repellent. It is to an extent, with a little leakage around the hat band seam. Meanwhile, it hangs on a hat hook and looks ok. Wall art, ya know. I should donate it to Goodwill. My Tilley mashup does better in the rain. I recommend this hat because of the quality of workmanship, but would caution about the size. It runs a size small.

We had to deal with the "Guaranteed for life" label so many times " with different companies. None were exact to their words. Tilley is beyond that; My husband had 2 hats that were old, (very old) and so tattered. I had to patch one the other had a bad sunburn, peeling. We did not claim then because of our bad experience with the " Guaranteed for life "

While buying online this time for a new one I saw the "words" again. Well, I'll try, nothing to lose. To my surprise, I had a very fast reply from them offering to replace the old ones for a minimal fee. We received the hats about 3 weeks after the first communication. Do not say it but I keep one for me;

Have had this hat now for a year and it has seen a lot of time out on the water. It is light and stays put. Fits great and does a great job of repelling water, and dries quickly after getting wet. Does a great job in all but the longest and hardest rain at keeping my head dry. Cooler than a baseball hat on hot days and certainly provides better shade over the ears and neck. It has been stuffed in packs, dropped on muddy portages and still looks great. Always worth purchasing high quality goods made in Canada.
